To effectively integrate on-campus resources, equipment, manpower, space (software and hardware facilities), and satellite factories (including the College of Engineering Mechanical Integrated Factory, MOL Yunjia’nan Branch NTUST Vocational Training Site, Intelligent Machinery and Smart Manufacturing Research Center, and Aerospace Processing Intelligence Training Base), the Center aims to establish technological integration. Its hardware facilities include basic machining skills, CNC machining, computer-aided multi-axis machining, and turn-milling composite machining. Software applications include NX, CATIA, and PowerMill. Through resource integration and technological enhancement, the Center further promotes cross-college and interdisciplinary research outcomes, thereby increasing the potential and opportunities for industry–academia collaboration.
The Center’s objective is to strengthen students’ ability to independently operate CNC machines. In practice, students will be able to design drawings, plan machining processes, simulate cutting operations, operate machines, and actually produce mechanical components. Internally, the Center also provides contract machining services to assist faculty and students in developing mechanical parts and processes to support project implementation. Externally, the Center connects with enterprises through industry–academia collaboration projects to cultivate the talent needed by industry and deepen cooperative models. Short-term goals focus on integrating resources, technologies, and talent development through student training and apprenticeship systems to nurture future engineers. Mid-term goals involve constructing a modern machining factory in the Industry–Academia Internship Building on the Xingzhong Campus, using complete computer-aided machining equipment to further promote on-campus internships. Long-term goals aim to train industry-needed professionals through industry–academia collaboration and establish a multiplier effect via personnel training, ultimately realizing the mission of an Industrial Academy through comprehensive field development.
